Are Christians pressured by their religious community to take their children to church?

What happens to a Christian parent if they go to church one day without their children, their fellow church goers ask, "Where are your children?" and the Christian responds, "Oh, they told me they didn't want to go anymore and I respect their decision"? Do their fellow Christians pressure them to force their children to go to church?
