Can Michigan Police MAIL MIP's?

The other night I was at a party in which the police showed up. They took the home owner into a cop car, and lined the party goers up and systematically breathalyzed all of us. After I blew, the officers took down my name and phone number, but did not write any tickets to anyone at the party. My question is... is although the officers did not write tickets on scene, could they possibly mail the tickets without us knowing we were recieving them?
